Yup, soon the pitter patter of little feet will be heard in our house. Well, I guess they aren't so little, since we're expecting a 12 year old.
Our niece, Ellen, is flying in tomorrow to spend the entire summer with us...6 whole weeks. Dave and I are both very excited and I'm sure Scout would be excited as well, if she understood what we're saying. She'll be excited tomorrow though, when we get back from the airport and Ellen starts spoiling her rotten.
We have the guest room all set up for her. We repainted the room and put a nice closet organizer in there and Dave even built a desk for her to use.
We looked at desks at several furniture and second hand stores and Dave couldn't find anything "that's worth a dang" so he just bought the wood and built it himself.
And yes, that is a little television and our old laptop on her desk. Dave is already spoiling her.
He even found a Sponge Bob Square Pants poster that he could live with...Sponge Bob and Patrick on Harley Davidsons.
While I'm at work during the day, she's going to volunteer at the local library. Luckily, as an outside salesperson, my job is flexible and I can come pick her up and drop her off during the day.
In the evenings, she and I can go swimming or bowling or to the movies, or we can stay in and scrapbook. I got her her own little album so she can make a scrapbook about her trip out here.
Then on the weekends when Dave comes home, we've got a few adventures planned. One weekend she and I will load up and go down to meet him at Camp Pendleton and move his trailer down to Del Mar Beach.
At first I was just excited thinking about all the fun we are going to have; but as the day approaches, I'm starting to get a little nervous. Usually I subside on frozen dinners all week...I'm going to have to feed her every night! EEK!
Pray for me! LOL! Actually pray for Ellen!

love the desk!! ya'll are going to have so much fun
